Random sci-fi idea: mankind is wiped out for some reason (plague, nukes, you name it), but before going completely extinct we are able to store all of our cultural legacy (from ancient Egyptian sculptures and medieval codices to pop music records and dank memes) in Svalbard Seed Vault-like bunkers supervised by an AI with the mission of ensuring its survival so that if aliens eventually show up they can appreciate our culture. The AI at some point begins to build robots, factories, infrastructure, etc., across the world to ensure that anything necessary to preserve the cultural records (from energy to power the whole system to chemical products needed to restore paintings or spare parts to repair the machinery) is at its disposal. It also decides to restore old buildings relevant to human cultures (temples, palaces, etc.) because they are also part of mankind's cultural legacy, and build new ones inspired on those to hold the records, reasoning that it would be more representative of
